Paediatric Surgery
The registration or pre-booking of your surgery involves appointment scheduling with the Patient Information Centre by your physician.
The Paediatric Surgical Day Care is located on the 4th floor, Paediatric Unit.
Please stop at the nursing station and inform the unit clerk that you have arrived.
If you had blood tests done, please tell us so we can get results if necessary.
Our aim is to provide you with the best possible care during your stay with us.
You are asked to arrive two (2) hours before your surgery time. You may have one (1) relative or friend accompany you to the hospital. A lounge is provided for your family or friends to wait while you are in surgery. Family are not allowed in Recovery Room, but the staff will be able to keep your family or friends well advised about your status at all times.
You will be kept two (2) hours after your return to Day Surgery Unit. You will be offered a light snack if you wish.
If your child is having a tonsillectomy, someone familiar to them should be with the child during their stay in the Day Surgery Unit. Your child will be staying for approximately ten (10) hours after surgery.
