Counseling

The Social Work Department exists to provide clinical counseling, community mental health and other social work services to the adult population of Renfrew County. Community-based mental health services are provided primarily to those adults suffering from a serious mental illness. Adult counseling and sexual assault counseling are provided to the general population via scheduled office appointments.

Scope of Services

The Social Work Department provides a broad range of services to the Hospital and to the greater Renfrew County region. These services include: marital therapy, individual and group counseling, sexual assault counseling, as well as a wide range of community-based programming and home support services for adults with long term psychiatric difficulties.

Consumer Operated Development Enterprise (CODE)

The purpose of CODE is to provide opportunities for people with a serious mental illness to support each other and to socialize with their peers through the operation of drop-in centres in Renfrew County, and to promote public awareness of mental health issues. There are currently two drop-in centres in Renfrew County.
